Hello!
As Dr Taboos, my new role in healthcare now is similar to that of a dedicated Google Maps engineer. Committed to creating an empathetic, inclusive system, I ensure everyone navigates their health journey confidently, regardless of identity.
In my professional life, I am a practicing ObGyn, former Chief Medical Officer overseeing 400+ clinicians. In my personal life, I am a married straight asian mom of 3. However, my true calling extends beyond my immediate environment. In my next chapter, I am focused on bridging gaps created by societal stigmas, especially in the LGBTQIA community, emphasizing gay and bisexual males. Why? I have seen our broken health system magnified in the care of this group more than others. Addressing this community’s specific healthcare challenges, I believe, helps improve the system for everyone.
My mission is to develop ways for this community to avoid stigmas, leading to better health outcomes. This system, while initially focused on the LGBTQIA community, is designed to be scalable, and adaptable to other stigmatized groups facing similar challenges.
While I haven't experienced the LGBTQIA community's unique paths, my expertise lies in designing systems for change, much like a map engineer who designs pathways based on user experiences and data, informed not by my own journey but by the lived experiences and needs of the LGBTQIA community.
I’m creating an entirely new operating system rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and understanding. My drive to humanize healthcare is the core algorithm of my work, constantly evolving and adapting to meet the needs of those who have long been marginalized by the conventional system.
Join us in this movement. Regardless of your identity, your beliefs, your orientation, as humans, we can only thrive when we are our authentic selves. If we stand with each other, we have hope to overturn this archaic system.
